Video to MP3 Converter: Extract Audio from Any Video (Free, On Device)

Keep the song from a music video, the speech from a lecture recording or the audio of a WhatsApp video as an MP3 you can play anywhere. Choose the video, pick the quality and convert. The video is processed by ffmpeg running inside your browser, so even private recordings stay on your device.

Questions

Why does the first conversion take longer?

The video engine (ffmpeg, about 31 MB) downloads once when you start the first job; your browser keeps it for next time. After that, only your own device does the work: nothing is uploaded.

Which quality should I choose?

128 kbps is fine for speech and podcasts, 192 kbps for most music, and 320 kbps if the original sound is very high quality. A higher number than the original cannot add quality.

Is there a file size limit?

Everything happens in your browser’s memory, so very large files (over about 1 GB) may not fit, especially on phones. Trim or compress long recordings first; a computer handles bigger files than a phone.

It says my video has no sound. Why?

Some screen recordings and GIF-style clips simply have no audio track. Play the video with sound on to check.

Is my data private?

Yes. Everything happens inside your own browser: nothing you type or choose is uploaded to us or anyone else.

Is it free?

Completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many times you use it. Light ads keep the site running.
