Show what you can do. Enter your name, choose a 1, 2, 3 or 5-minute test and type the passage. When the time is up, your certificate is made on the spot: your name, speed in WPM, accuracy, level (Beginner, Intermediate, Professional or Expert), the test length, the date and a check code. Download it as a high-resolution PNG or print it on A4. The certificate can only be made from a test you take here, not from numbers typed in, and it states clearly that it is a self-taken online test.

Questions
How is WPM worked out?
Typing speed is counted the standard way: every 5 characters you type correctly (letters, spaces and punctuation) count as one “word”, and that number is divided by the minutes you typed. So 250 correct characters in one minute is 50 WPM. Mistakes you leave in do not count towards your speed, and accuracy shows how many of your keystrokes were right.
Is this an official certificate?
No. It is an honest record of a test you took yourself, without supervision, and it says so. It is useful for your own records, for students, and as a talking point. For a job or exam, you may still be asked to take their own test.
What do the levels mean?
Beginner is under 25 WPM, Intermediate 25–39, Professional 40–59 and Expert 60 WPM or more.
What is the check code?
A short code made from the name, speed, accuracy, test length and date on the certificate. If any of these is changed later, the code no longer matches.
