Questions

How do I type long vowels and hard letters?

Double the vowel for a long sound (aa, ii or ee, uu or oo) and use capitals for the “hard” Indian letters: T ट, D ड, N ण, Sh ष. Open “How to type” for the full list.

Why is a word spelled slightly differently from what I expected?

This tool follows fixed spelling rules rather than a dictionary, so it writes exactly the sounds you type. Adjust the letters (for example kyaa for क्या) to get the spelling you want.

Can I keep some words in English?

Yes. Put them in curly braces, like {Asha} or {WhatsApp}, and they are kept as they are.

Is what I type sent anywhere?

No. The conversion rules run entirely in your browser.

Is my data private?

Yes. Everything happens inside your own browser: nothing you type or choose is uploaded to us or anyone else.

Is it free?

Completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many times you use it. Light ads keep the site running.
