Get subtitles working with your video player or website. Convert SubRip (.srt) to WebVTT (.vtt) for HTML5 video and YouTube, or VTT back to SRT for players and TVs. Subtitles appear too early or late? Shift every line by any number of seconds, or fix the steady drift caused by a different frame rate. You can also extract just the text.
loading toolHow to convert and sync subtitles
- Paste the subtitles or open the .srt / .vtt file.
- Choose the output format, and a shift in seconds or a frame-rate fix if needed.
- Copy the result or press Download file.
Good to know
- Use a negative shift like -1.5 to show subtitles earlier, positive to show them later.
- Times that would fall before 0:00 are set to 0.
Questions
My subtitles drift further out of sync as the film goes on. Why?
The subtitles were timed for a different frame rate (often 23.976 vs 25 fps). Choose the matching frame-rate fix and the drift disappears; then shift if there is still a constant gap.
Are styles and positions kept?
Line breaks and SRT tags like italics are kept. VTT-only settings (position, voice and class tags) are removed when converting to SRT because most SRT players do not support them.
