Space Typing Game: Type Words to Shoot Rocks and Protect Your Ship

Defend your little ship from waves of space rocks. Each rock carries a word. Type the first letter to lock on to the nearest rock starting with it, then type the rest of the word. Every correct letter fires a laser, and the rock breaks when the word is done. Wrong letters miss. Each wave has more rocks moving faster, and a rock that reaches your ship knocks off one of your three shields. The rocks on screen start with different letters, so the first letter you press always picks one target.

Questions

What does “lock on” mean?

Your first letter chooses a target. After that, only the letters of that word count until it is destroyed. Press Escape to let go of a target and pick another.

How is the score counted?

A destroyed rock scores 10 points for each letter of its word, multiplied by the wave number. Your accuracy (hits compared with misses) is shown under the game.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes. There is no violence beyond breaking rocks, no chat and nothing to buy. Choose Easy for short words and slower rocks.
