Questions

Why can I not hear very high or very low tones?

Most adults hear roughly 20 Hz to 15–17 kHz, and the top limit falls with age. Small phone and laptop speakers also cannot play deep bass.

Is it safe?

Start at low volume, especially with headphones, and increase slowly. Loud pure tones are tiring and can harm hearing and small speakers.
