Questions
Does it work if I switch to another tab or app?
Yes for keeping time: it reads the real clock, so the time stays exact. Sounds can only play while the page is still open in the browser, so do not close the tab.
How accurate is it?
It reads your device’s high-resolution clock instead of counting ticks, so it does not drift even over hours. What you see is rounded to a hundredth of a second.
Why did I not hear the timer?
Check that the phone is not on silent and the volume is up, and press Start at least once by hand: browsers only allow sound after you tap the page.
Is my data private?
Yes. Everything happens inside your own browser: nothing you type or choose is uploaded to us or anyone else.
Is it free?
Completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many times you use it. Light ads keep the site running.
