Read the tiny print on medicine labels, receipts, seeds packets, SIM cards and screws. Point your phone’s back camera, zoom up to 8×, switch on the phone light if it has one, and freeze the picture so you can read it comfortably without holding still. High-contrast, white-on-black and yellow modes make text easier to read for people with low vision.
loading toolHow to use the magnifier
- Press Start magnifier and allow the camera.
- Point the back camera at the text and move the Zoom slider.
- Tap Light for the phone torch (if supported) and pick a reading mode.
- Tap Freeze to hold the picture still while you read it.
Good to know
- Hold the phone 10–15 cm from the text and zoom in, rather than holding it very close: most phone cameras cannot focus closer than that.
- White on black is often the most comfortable mode for reading with cataracts or glare sensitivity.
Questions
Is the camera recorded or uploaded?
No. The picture goes from your camera straight to the screen inside your browser. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent anywhere unless you press the photo button, and then the photo is saved only to your own device. The camera switches off when you press Stop or leave the page.
Why is the picture blurry when I zoom in a lot?
Where your phone supports it, the tool uses the camera’s own zoom, which is sharper. Beyond that it enlarges the picture on screen, which can look soft. Move a little further away, add light, and let the camera focus before you freeze.
The Light button does nothing.
Only some phones and browsers (mostly Chrome on Android) let a web page switch on the camera light. On others, use a lamp or open our Screen Light tool on a second device.
Is my data private?
Yes. Everything happens inside your own browser: nothing you type or choose is uploaded to us or anyone else.
Is it free?
Completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many times you use it. Light ads keep the site running.
