Logic Grid Puzzles Online: Who Owns What? (Easy to Hard)

Logic grid puzzles are detective work on paper. A few friends each have a different pet, colour, drink, city, hobby or snack, and a short list of clues is enough to work out exactly who has what. Mark ✕ where a pairing is impossible and ● where it must be true until only one answer is left. A new puzzle is made every time, and each one has exactly one solution.

How to solve a logic grid puzzle

  1. Choose a level (3, 4 or 5 people) and press New puzzle.
  2. Read the clues; tap a clue to cross it off when you have used it.
  3. Tap a grid square once for ✕ (no) and twice for ● (yes).
  4. When every person has the right match in both lists, the puzzle is solved.

Good to know

  • “Either … or …” clues mean exactly one of the two is true: they are strong once one option is ruled out.
  • Use Check to find mistakes early, before they spread.
  • Great for classrooms: the 3-person level suits children aged about 8 and up.

Questions

How do I start a logic grid puzzle?

Begin with direct clues such as “Ben does not drink tea”: put ✕ in that square. Clues like “Asha owns the dog” give a ● and let you cross out the rest of that row and column at once.

What does the lower part of the grid do?

It links the two lists that are not names, for example pets and drinks. If the dog owner drinks milk, mark that there. It helps you combine clues such as “The dog owner lives in Oslo”.

Are the puzzles always solvable?

Yes. While making a puzzle we test every possible arrangement and keep adding clues until exactly one fits, then remove any clue that is not needed.
