Questions
How does it decide between CGST + SGST and IGST?
From the first two digits of the GSTIN (the state code) compared with your own state. For a B2C sale without a GSTIN, choose the customer’s state; leave it as “same as mine” for local sales.
How does the GSTIN check work?
A GSTIN has 15 characters and the last one is a check character calculated from the first 14. The tool recalculates it, so most typing mistakes are caught before they reach your return.
Is the “tax to pay” exact?
It is output tax minus eligible input credit, head by head. On the GST portal, IGST credit is set off first and the order can change the cash you pay under each head, and late fees, interest and reverse-charge items are not included. Use it as a check, and file from your accountant’s or the portal’s figures.
Where is my data saved?
Only in this browser on this device. Nothing is uploaded. Use Backup to save a copy to your files (and Restore to bring it back, even on another device), and back up before clearing your browser data.
