Convert spreadsheets both ways without uploading them. Excel to CSV gives one CSV file per sheet, with the separator your software needs (comma, semicolon for European systems, or tab) and an optional UTF-8 marker so Excel shows ₹, é and Hindi correctly. CSV to Excel builds a real .xlsx workbook, one sheet per CSV file, with numbers stored as numbers and codes like 007 or phone numbers kept exactly as typed.
loading toolHow to convert Excel and CSV

Good to know
- Several sheets give several CSV files; Download all (ZIP) saves them together.
- Phone numbers starting with 0 stay as text in the workbook, so the 0 is not lost.
Questions
Why would I need a semicolon separator?
In many European countries Excel uses a comma as the decimal sign, so it expects CSV columns separated by semicolons.
Are formulas kept?
CSV can only hold values, so Excel to CSV saves the calculated results. Formatting, colours and charts are not part of CSV either.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Everything happens inside your browser. The open-source library the tool needs is downloaded once from a public CDN; your files never leave your device.
Is my data private?
Yes. Everything happens inside your own browser: nothing you type or choose is uploaded to us or anyone else.
Is it free?
Completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many times you use it. Light ads keep the site running.
