Edit PDF Metadata: Change Title, Author, Keywords, or Remove Them All

Every PDF carries details about itself: a title that shows in browser tabs and search results, the author’s name (often the name on the computer that made it), the program used, and creation dates. Fix a wrong title before publishing, add keywords, or remove everything before you send a file to someone outside your company.

Questions

Why does my PDF show the wrong title in Chrome?

Browsers show the Title field, which is often left over from a template. Change it here and save.

What does “Remove all info” remove?

The title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, dates and the separate XMP copy of the same details. Page content is not touched.

My PDF says it is password-protected. What now?

If you know the password, open it with our Remove PDF Password tool first, then come back. We cannot (and will not) break passwords you do not have.

Is my data private?

Yes. Everything happens inside your own browser: nothing you type or choose is uploaded to us or anyone else.

Is it free?

Completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many times you use it. Light ads keep the site running.
