Easy Riddles for Kids with Answers: 40+ Fun Riddles with Hints

Easy, friendly riddles for children aged about 4 to 10, all written by us. Each “What am I?” riddle describes something a child knows, such as an elephant, a kite, a rainbow, a toothbrush or a pineapple, in a playful way. How to play the kids’ riddles

We wrote them ourselves for this site, with their hints and explanations. You will not find this exact set anywhere else, and new ones are added from time to time.

What age are these riddles for?

Most children enjoy them from about 4 to 10. Younger children like hearing them read aloud; older ones can read and type on their own.

How can I use them with a class or family?

Read a riddle aloud and let everyone guess before you press Answer. They also make good car-journey games, birthday party games and morning warm-ups in class.

Is it safe for children?

Yes. There is no chat, no sign-up and nothing to buy, and nothing typed is sent anywhere. Like the rest of the site it shows a few ads around the page (never inside the riddles), so younger children are best supervised.
