Check where a domain points, which servers receive its email and whether your SPF, DKIM or verification TXT records are live. Type a domain or paste a full link and see its A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, SOA and CAA records together, with how long each is cached (TTL) and whether the answer is signed with DNSSEC. Type an IP address for a reverse (PTR) lookup.
loading toolHow to look up DNS records
- Type a domain name such as example.com (a full link works too).
- Choose “All common records” or one record type, and Google or Cloudflare.
- Press Look up and read the records, their values and TTL.
Good to know
- NXDOMAIN means the name does not exist: check the spelling, or the domain may have expired.
- For DKIM, look up selector._domainkey.yourdomain.com as TXT (your email provider tells you the selector).
Questions
Why do I see old records after changing my DNS?
Resolvers keep answers for the TTL time shown. Wait that long, or compare Google and Cloudflare, which may refresh at different times.
What is sent, and to whom?
Only the domain name you type, sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to the public DNS service you pick: Google Public DNS (dns.google) or Cloudflare (1.1.1.1). We store nothing.
How do I check my email setup?
Choose TXT to see SPF (v=spf1…) and DMARC (look up _dmarc.yourdomain.com), and MX to see your mail servers.
Is it free?
Completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many times you use it. Light ads keep the site running.
