How is WPM worked out?
Typing speed is counted the standard way: every 5 characters you type correctly (letters, spaces and punctuation) count as one “word”, and that number is divided by the minutes you typed. So 250 correct characters in one minute is 50 WPM. Mistakes you leave in do not count towards your speed, and accuracy shows how many of your keystrokes were right.
When does the new challenge appear?
At midnight on your device’s clock. Your streak is kept until the end of the next day, so you have all of today to keep it going.
Is it the same text for everyone?
Yes. The text is chosen from the date, so friends can compare their scores for the same day.
Where are my results saved?
Only on this device, in your browser’s storage. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account. If you clear your browser data or switch to another phone or computer, your past results will not be there.
Is my data private?
Yes. Everything happens inside your own browser: nothing you type or choose is uploaded to us or anyone else.
