Practise typing on the words that matter to you: your study notes, a chapter of a book, a speech you want to learn, or texts from your exam syllabus. Paste or type the text, choose whether to join it into one paragraph, use all small letters or remove punctuation to make it easier, and set a timer if you want a timed test. Then type it with the same live colours, speed and accuracy as the speed test. Your text is remembered on this device for next time.

Questions
How is WPM worked out?
Typing speed is counted the standard way: every 5 characters you type correctly (letters, spaces and punctuation) count as one “word”, and that number is divided by the minutes you typed. So 250 correct characters in one minute is 50 WPM. Mistakes you leave in do not count towards your speed, and accuracy shows how many of your keystrokes were right.
Can I use Hindi, Punjabi or other languages?
Yes. Any language your keyboard can type works, as long as you type it with your own keyboard for that language.
Is my text uploaded?
No. It stays in your browser and is saved only on this device so it is there next time. Press Clear to remove it.
Why are curly quotes changed?
Fancy quotes (“ ” ‘ ’), long dashes and the … sign are not on normal keyboards, so they are changed to " ' - and ... to make them typeable.
Is my data private?
Yes. Everything happens inside your own browser: nothing you type or choose is uploaded to us or anyone else.
Is it free?
