Compare Two PDFs: See Every Changed Word and Visual Difference

Got a “final” version of an agreement, quotation or question paper and want to know exactly what changed? Choose the old and the new PDF. Page by page, words that were removed are struck through in red and new words are green, and a picture of each page marks every visual change, such as moved logos or changed numbers in tables, in red.

How to compare two PDFs

  1. Choose the original PDF as A and the changed PDF as B.
  2. Press Compare.
  3. Read the changed words, then step through the pages to see visual differences in red.

Good to know

  • Small red specks around text can come from a different font or PDF maker; look for clusters.

Questions

What if pages were added or removed?

Pages are compared by position, so adding one page early shifts the rest. The text view still shows every changed word around the change; the summary tells you how many pages each file has.

Does it compare scanned PDFs?

The picture comparison works on scans too. The word comparison needs real text, so make scans searchable first with our OCR tool.

Are my documents uploaded?

No. Both PDFs are opened and compared inside your browser.

Is my data private?

Yes. Everything happens inside your own browser: nothing you type or choose is uploaded to us or anyone else.

Is it free?

Completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many times you use it. Light ads keep the site running.
