Slow down a song to learn it, speed up a long lecture or voice note, or move a track into a key that suits your voice. Choose 0.5× to 2× speed while keeping the original pitch, shift the pitch up or down by up to 12 semitones, or let pitch follow speed for a classic “chipmunk” effect. Everything is processed on your device and saved as WAV.
loading toolHow to change audio speed and pitch
- Choose an audio file and play it to hear the speed change live.
- Set the speed and pitch; leave “Keep the original pitch” ticked for natural voices.
- Press Make and download the WAV.
Good to know
- One semitone is one piano key; 12 semitones is a full octave.
- For podcasts and lectures, 1.25× to 1.5× is usually still easy to follow.
Questions
How is the pitch kept when the speed changes?
The audio is time-stretched with a method called WSOLA: it repeats or skips tiny matching slices of sound so the length changes but the notes do not. Extreme speeds can sound slightly echoey.
Which files can I open?
Anything your browser can play: usually MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A/AAC and FLAC. Very long files take more time and memory.
Why is the saved file bigger than the original?
WAV is uncompressed so it keeps full quality and plays everywhere. Convert it to MP3 afterwards if you need a smaller file.
Is my data private?
Yes. Everything happens inside your own browser: nothing you type or choose is uploaded to us or anyone else.
Is it free?
Completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many times you use it. Light ads keep the site running.
